My adventure with clay began over 20 years ago with beanie baby look-a-likes, then custom creations for friends and family, and then nativity sets. Custom creations (ornaments, cake toppers, and nativity additions) have continued to be a personal favorite of mine because each figure has a new and special story.
I then began creating saint figures for family members and Catechesis of the Good Shepherd sets for an atrium at a school where I worked. While designing and sculpting these figures, I developed my personal style and finally felt like I was doing valuable work. Those experiences are such blessings that have led me to expand my hobby and be able to stay home with my kiddos and sculpt after they go to sleep!
The figures are made with colored polymer clay (not painted clay). No molds are used other than shaping with my own two hands...this makes each figure truly unique! Although I strive to keep each figure simple rather than distracting, I pay special attention to detail...somehow the clock speeds away while I inspect each figure before firing them in the oven!
